Hello,

this depends on what you are expecting from the term SBC. Have a look e.g. on this page for an overview:

Kamailio can fulfil many SBC duties, but its not a 100% replacement for a FreeSwitch. Usually Kamailio is used together with a PBX like FreeSwitch or Asterisk in infrastructure.

I’m looking at using Kamailio as SBC.

This would replace our current FreeSWITCH-based SBCs.

What are your thoughts on this move? Would there be any known reasons why Kamailio would be superior to FreeSWITCH as an SBC?
