Yes, I was trying to keep it simple, but perhaps, as you say, at the cost of some accuracy. :-)

Most laypeople’s understanding of what it means to sell software, in my experience, is to distribute it in binary form without offering the source, even upon request. This is what I meant to say was forbidden.
