[SR-Users] Can the callid be modified/mapped when branching a call?

Thanks for the response Alex,

The use case is for where the upstream registrar is unable to support
multiple clients, and I'm seeking a way to alter the CallID so that
SBC's in the path did not reject 2nd call legs.

Hence my followup question  would be technically can it be done by
routing the branch to self, then modify the callid, then forward on to
destination? I agree that may be undesired in a conventional proxy but
if it were possible it could solve a particular issue, or do any
alternative solutions come to mind?
