Hi Joel,
Your interpretation of the requirement is correct. Just to stress RTPEngine is there in audio path as I mentioned in point 1 below. So...

User - Kamailio/rtpengine-destination (video)
User - Kamailio/rtpengine-Asterisk (audio)

Later part (audio) is the existing flow. We need to add the first (video)one. Now question is if that is possible?

I think he wants to handle rtp like:

User - kamailio/rtpengine - destination (video)
User - kamailio (with/without rtpengine is unclear) - asterisk - destination (audio)

My assumption of your topology: there's an Asterisk box, some SIP video-enabled phones registered to Asterisk via Kamailio, with Rtpengine as media proxy.

Phone A video calls Phone B. What do you want to happen, drop video, pass it along or something else (not sure what else is possible) ?

1. Audio packets directed towards Asterisk from Kamailio (RTPEngine)
2. Video packets not via Asterisk. RTPEngine directly sends to destination.

Not wanting to remove video contradicts with your original plan "Is it possible to redirect only the audio stream towards Asterisk... and not to send the video stream to Asterisk"

So which one is it?

If we remove the video m line, I have a doubt if the video stream will still get routed to destination (from Kamailio-RTPEngine).  I do not want the video to be droped from the call. I am learning how to use Kamailio, so excuse me for my limited knowledge of the system.
