Hi Herman,

You must follow the instructions at
https://www.kamailio.org/wiki/tutorials/3.2.x/syslog

Anyway check:

* In case Kamailio is not running as root then the user as enough
privileges to write in the log file.

* How do you have 'log_stderror' in your kamailio config file?.
