I did try that, it did not seem to change the result. I did replace
sethostport with the line you gave me.

BEfore forwarding the call to the gateway make sure that the request URI

does not contain a transport=tls parameter. MAybe this parameter exists 
in the original RURI and sethostport does not change the parameters. 
Instead of sethostport try:

$ru = "sip" + $rU + "@1.2.3.4" + "transport=udp";
