Agreed, LOC is not a terribly useful measurement for developers.
Unfortunately, we don't seem to be able to educate management of that fact.

Counting lines of code is not interesting for developers. Thus, if you
really want to know the lines of code you have to count yourself (e.g
using tools like wc (wordcount))
