[Users] Insert name into from header of SIP messages -- trouble with uac_replace_from

I am having some trouble with the uac_replace_from module. If I use...
uac_replace_from("","");
which should strip the display and leave the the uri alone openser  
fails to start leaving
"Oct 31 15:41:57 ser1 /usr/local/sbin/openser[8273]:  
ERROR:uac:fixup_replace_from2: both parameter are empty " in /var/log/ 
messages.

If I use something like this...
uac_replace_from("Superman",""); which should leave the uri alone and  
write the Display name
I get a from uri with Superman in the Display name (as it should be)  
and nothing in the sip from address just From: "Superman" <>;tag=xxxxxx.
Any help greatly appreciated.
