Hello,

Can I specify an IP address of the radius server in radiusclient.conf, as
opposed to a host name ?

When I specify an IP address, I get the following error message:

Oct 5 16:38:55 sipproxy ser[2115]: rc_ip_hostname: couldn't look up host by
addr: D5F13A8C

Oct 5 16:38:55 sipproxy ser[2115]: rc_send_server: no reply from RADIUS
server unknown:1812

Oct 5 16:39:01 sipproxy ser[2112]: rc_ip_hostname: couldn't look up host by
addr: D5F13A8C

Oct 5 16:39:01 sipproxy ser[2112]: rc_send_server: no reply from RADIUS
server unknown:1812

Why does the radius client try and resolve the host name for the radius
server. Isn't IP address enough ?

Dawid

Subject: [Serusers] RE: no reply from RADIUS server

Hi,

I can not get radius authentication to work. I have run out of ideas and am
starting to get a bit frustrated. I was wondering whether someone could help
me out.

I am using:

SER 8.14 from CVS

Radiusclient ng 0.4.2 (tried 0.4.3 as well)

I have radiusclient.conf and servers configured.

I get the following error in messages:

rc_send_server: no reply from RADIUS server .

I have run tcpdump to verify but it doesent show any attempts to contact the
radius server.

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Dawid
