I am just as big newbie user as you are, but some hints at aleast,

Example configurations are availble on with ser, if you look at you doc
directory you should find ser there, with modules documentation and
example configs.

You can choose the port SER listens to in the config, but standard SIP
port is 5060.
For RTP ports, I belive they are choosen by the end-points.

I belive its already in your /usr/lib/ser/modules/
directory, running Debian here, so your paths my differ :)
