[Serusers] why isn't xlog logging?

I must be doing something really dumb:

    if (uri==myself) { # allow *all* my aliases to match
         if (method=="REGISTER") {
             xlog("L_INFO", "REGISTER %is: %tu\n");
             if (!www_authorize("columbia.edu", "subscriber")) {
                 www_challenge("columbia.edu", "0");
                 break;
             };

             save("location");   # save in usrloc
             break;
         };

Nothing shows up in syslog for the xlogs but other syslogging works:
