[Serusers] Serweb won't authenticate AND SIPPS soft phone review

The actual serweb.tar.gz file has no version number in the name. This was my suggestion, to actually put a version number in the name as you do with ser and sems.

I have tried x-lite and x-pro. They both have limited functionality. X-Pro is supposed to have a greater feature set, but as I reported before, call transfer is not supported, nor is redirect, or built in answer machine.

Thank's -- that's a hint which should appear in documentation someday.

Serweb in the distribution is aligned to SER.
ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/ser/latest/
It is tagged as "rel_8_11".

>Also, I tested the soft phone from SIPPS [ http://www.sippstar.com/en/index.html ]. Its a very nice setup. It has a built in answer machine, transfers call correctly, redirects calls, does conference calling [only 3 users maximum.] It also provides a readout of network performance and packet quality which is pretty cool, and a choice of skins. They give a free 3 month trial license, and then a license is US $25.

Other phone you can look at is x-lite -- the lite version is completely free.
