[sr-dev] db_mysql client group issue

Hello,

the db_mysql module seems to read the [client] section in my.cnf only if 
a [group] in the db-url is specified.
(at least this is valid for the default-character-set option).

In my opinion this does not make sense, because the mysql reference 
manual says:
"The [client] option group is read by all client programs"

Are there any reasons for the current situation or can this be 
considered as a bug?
