                            if you get this, there is still a bug.

It's quite strange, I cannot reproduce it (I made a wrapper over gcc,
that returns the same version as your Suse gcc and it works for me).
Could you run and send me the ouptut of the following commands:

grep -n RPAREN Makefile.defs

make cfg-defs; egrep -o -- "-DCOMPILER='[^']*'" config.mak

[...]
