A few years ago, a lot of people would have say "there's no room
for Open Source in Telecom, since it is telco stuff". Look what  
happened.

I think it is dangerous to say that there's no room for Open Source
in IMS. There's a lot of activity with smaller mobile providers now,  
integrating
SIP on Internet with GSM/3G network. They will need Open Source
IMS, if not now, then soon.
