Configfile not working after fresh install

Once uppon a time there was some new to ser and sysadmins who could install SER, due to that , SER installation was so that you did:

cd sip_router && make install && ser 

you then had a working ser... now with the new config...

cd sip_router && make install && ser
ERROR: bad config file (3 errors)
..

Wich is due to that the config wich is now put in by the makescript contains the mysql and xmlrpc modules as default. 
These modules does NOT compile by default in ser, due to that they are not compiled by default (shoot me if I'm wrong with xmlrpc)

Suggestions:

1: have 1 config that Always work 
2: have X config variants of the same config, only different version of it out from what group_include you do when installing
3: Use Gregers upcoming m4 config template system (wich I personally do like!)
