Well -- "difficult" is a definition relative to the engineer's capabilities too ;)
SER has been ported to ARM/ipaq, PowerPC, SUN, and maybe even more. Mostly
it is about rewriting a small part of assembly code. Footprint is severl
hundred kilobytes, the exact size depends on which modules you include.
There is a textual DB driver to have a database with low system requirements
too.
