[Kamailio-Devel] rewrite r-uri or append branch?

i would like to make lcr module's next_gw() function independent of if
it is called from request route or failure route.  now if it is called
from request route block, it rewrites r-uri and, if called from from
failure route block, it appends a new branch.

how can i test if a transaction already exists and a new branch should
be added instead of rewriting r-uri?
