Summary: Mismatch between documentation and code

Initial Comment:
The s.escape.common doc says it will escape single and double quotes, backslashes and 0 chars. However the double quote is not escaped.

I opened this ticket for the issue to be fixed in the code (I consider the
docs to be correct in this case), not to remove the reference to double
quotes from the docs.
s.escape.common should escape double quotes too, as it was initially
written in the docs.
