regarding this one, i may be the same i noticed during 1.2 beta phase.
i did post a gdb backtrace and asked a question on how to interpret the
memory debug messages, but didn't get any reply.

it is ok with me to release 1.3.1 even if this problem is unsolved, but
it would be nice to figure out, what is (or was) going on.  i cannot
re-do my tests before april.
