no offence - don't know what your expectations with regards to the speed of 
this mailing list are. But i'd take rather the response rate of this 
commmunity as the of some commercial vendors..

As Olle said, take a look at the nathelper module. It implements some sort of 
keep alive ping to update the nat bindings. Some function to look at:

- get_all_ucontacts export from usrloc
- nh_timer from nathelper

But i think there is no real need of this functionality. If you ping before 
every usrloc lookup then this will delay your call setup. And there will be 
always a (small) possiblity that the device dropped just after your ping from 
the network. So you need to handle INVITE timeouts anyway, and transfer the 
call to the voicebox for example.
