openser will fail to initialize the usrloc module. It seems that usrloc is looking for the mysql db instead of dbtext:

Locking related issue -- fix just committed. However, at shutdown, some
locks can stay acquired -- in the state they were when signal was received.

Yup, you were right. I forgot to uncomment the db_url (I was testing with
db_mode 0 before).
It is working now.
Should the code check for NULL db_url when non '0' db_mode values are
used, instead of trying to load by default the mysql db?
Now, when I stop openser I have an issue related to the location table.
The domain(str) should be domain(str, null) because use_domain is set to
'0' by default.
I manually patched the location table and on shutdown the the ul is
properly dumped into the location table, but openser is not having a proper
shutdown (see logs) and is not removing the /var/run/openser.pid file:

My guess is that you didn't set the db_url parameter of usrloc, since the
errors comes when trying to locate DB API of mysql module, which seems not
to be loaded.
