it is so that this feature first finds out what domain name to use for
each country and then it makes the enum query?  if so, would it be
better to introduce a new script function, e.g., carrier_enum(), which
would first do its domain name discovery business and then call the
existing enum_query_2?

i would think that this would prevent making enum_query_2 still more
complex and would allow maintaining the carrier stuff independently from
the actual query part.
