The default installation directory is not:
/usr/local/lib/openser as expected, instead it is:
/usr/local/lib64/openser

If this is the correct behavior, it probably should be
noted somewhere.

This was introduced because on mixed 32b/64b systems the
default path for 64b libraries is lib64. Also, seems that
most of pure 64b uses lib64 as well.

You can force the name of the lib directory with

LIBDIR=xyz
