Sorry for the late answer.

The IETF meeting had the following results:


* Infrastructure ENUM is officially on the charter of the ENUM WG.
  (and it's named "Infrastructure ENUM" and not "Carrier ENUM")
  So there will definitely be an IETF standard which extends the
  old user-ENUM RFC.

* regarding the I-D: draft-haberler-carrier-enum-01.txt is certainly
  not the final word, it looks like there will be a more generic 
  approach which can even link to a different apex. It's not
  sure whether this will be a new RR or a TXT record.

  I will adapt my patches once I get a spec to program against.

* We're going to use the code in an infrastructure ENUM trial in 
  Austria which starts Q1/2006.
