I'm not a solaris person, but ser logs to syslog.

Hi Greger,

Thanks for the tip.  I'm using Solaris 10 and whatever Ser version it's bundled with, everything came preinstalled.  I went to /var/log, but there's no messages folder, all I have a syslog.# files.  How can I find out where the log messages are kept, if there are any at all?  Is that something I can set in the ser.cfg file?

Thanks,
Ben

Subject: Re: [Serusers] SIP Accounting Module problem

Ben,
the cat error just tells you that ser didn't start. Find the command in your ser service script that actually starts ser and start it manually. You may also add -E -D -D -D -D -D
to get lots of debug info to stderr (or just look in your /var/log/messages)

Hi folks,

I'm trying to get my accounting services working, but am having trouble doing so...  I am using the sample ser.cfg file, and am having a problem loading the acc.so module.

In the ser.cfg file, I try added the line: loadmodule "/usr/sfw/lib/ser/modules/acc.so"  to the bottom of the loadmodule section.  I haven't done any modparam or scripting yet, even so, when I restart the ser service, I get: Starting SER : cat: cannot open /var/run/ser.pid.

If I comment or remove the loadmodule line, ser will load again.  Is there anything else I need to add or configure before loading this module?  I went to /usr/sfw/lib/ser/modules to make sure acc.so is there, and it is.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much.
Ben
