Just to add some context, the above change is in OpenSSL. It would be great if you can also try with an unmodified OpenSSL with tls_thread_mode = 2. We had no reports of issues after the introduction of this parameter with OpenSSL 3.x, and many people are also using it on high load environments. It might be specific to some patches or the exact configuration that the embedded yocto linux is using, as most people are using Debian based OS or something of the CentOS family.
